Success on the Dyno

date added: -0-03-20

We have been dyno testing to establish the performance of our bike as a bench mark for our new engine build.

A few weeks back, I managed to catch a dyno session at TaffSpeed HQ when sideshow was testing our season#7 race bike before he installed our new engine for 2003.

The bike is currently putting out 10.4 bhp at peak power compared to around 8 bhp at this time last year. The performance increase is to do with correctly setting the bike in lab conditions and becoming less reliant on the traditional method of testing that takes place once the teams have hit the circuit.

In these series of dyno runs we established the optimum ignition setting required for our carb/pipe combination. This series of results will be transfered over to our season#8 engine which is awaiting final surgery prior to the race meeting in may.
