New Site Now Active - Visit it Here

I am also developing a new website as this one has been hacked together over the last 4 years. I'm starting fresh and bolting a database in to handle the content. This means in the near future you will hopefully see SideShow addintg a bit of news letting me get on with my other passion - www.mopedmayhem.com. SideShow has compiled a list of old race stats which may be of use if you run a similar ped. Keep your eyes open for more updates in the near future.

This year we are hopefully developing another engine/chassis for the Funky Moped Grass Track Drag Racing Championship we are due to enter.

20 - 10 - 02 - Updated Galleries and also added results for this year..

1 - 10 - 02 - Been Racing.

> What happened at the races BOYs...

Good race. reliable motor. Shit clutch. We cam in 4-6th depending on who you
ask. Taffspeed came first in class and 8th overall.

> Who fell off?

Smartin dropped it in practise on his first lap!.

> Who got injured stopping the race? Are they ok?

Dobsy and another colided as a bike exited the pit lane and t-boned a bike coming round the track. The riders were ok but a spectator went down and fractured his skull.. Dobsy got back on and then dumped it on the back chicane..

No mechanical failures, no falls, no stoppages, just pure racing finess. We're not sure where we came, perhaps 4th in class, perhaps 6th, but it does look like we were only 10-20 laps behind the 1st in class so the gap is narrowing. I'll try and get the full racing detail later.

25 - 07 - 02 - We're going racing!! Theres a charity event which has been discovered and we shall be off to Peterborough next weekend: 2-4 August 02 - Still got a bit of fettling to do and sort out the PVL replacement.

Did anyone find a set of Silver Sunnies (cébés) in the campsite on saturday night or sunday morning. They've got a mark on the right eye that looks a bit like a crescent. We got so pissed that on-one remembers where they went. Much appreciated if you have found them - theres even a reward!!

27 - 06 - 02 - Graham 'G-Man' & Rebbecca 'Becks' of Aperacing/Bonobo Moto fame, are pleased to announce the birth of their son Finnbar at 11 pm on 25th june 2002. he weighed 6 lbs 14 oz. mother and baby are doing well, and are now back home.

Please feel free to visit Finnbar’s website at www.thehouse.clara.net

A good weekends racing by all accounts. Sideshow got fastest in Class 3 by 2 seconds. We were 40s off 3rd place due to ignition failiure. Miguel got taken out by a rogue 36 bike and is bruised and battered. Smartin didn't kill the race bike. The van ran...

16 - 06 - 02 - Side show is busy fettling the engine in preparation for Elvington. We should be in a better position than rowrah as we have established what was killing our engine and are busy bolting the necessary air ducting onto the bike to give a bit of allround cooling. Temperature is critical for elvington as its a long circuit with hard tarmac so it likely to kill all but the best prepared engines. We've got new brakes and tyres so that should help loads.

04 - 06 - 02 - New images added to the gallery - updated 1997 gallery with some old pictures found from rowrah.

Plans for Elvington are a foot. We are doing heavy engine work to prevent our seizures that we fell foul to at Rowrah. We are also adding some thermal probes to log engine temperature to keep our engine alive.

Got the results after a bit of a delay. Bike was ripping it up when we were racing but due to off track engineering we gained a total of 14/40 points in the rowrah meetings. We are currently sitting at 13th in class which will be improved on over the next few races.

11 - 05 - 02 - Survived Racing... Check out mopedmayhem.com for some piccys whilst i get our last weeks pictures together. Updated the team section..

Miguel's race summary:

Solo got through scruitineering without a hitch. Engine set up was sweet/maybe running a little hot.6 hour race was good apart from 2 seizures.
Piston nipped up in the barrel.Taken off the track for top end rebuild. Lapped off visible scoring to barrel and piston. Cost 30 mins. Second seizure same as first. For smartins third session we made an air scoop which seemed to add some cooling (he didn't blow the engine up).
4 hour race was good apart from 2 seizures. Similar to above. Air scoop was removed prior to race as it was apparently interrupting the airflow to the carb. Mike dropped the bike 15 mins into race due to being nudged.
Superficial damage to bike. Trackside clock was restarted after a red flag and so mikes times were unlogged... Booooo!

We are in the process of a site redesign so check back soon for details...

02 - 05 - 02 - Ouch.

Esma has been advised by her doc not to race due to pulling a muscle in her shoulder. Therefore APERACING will be sporting sidshow, miguel and smartin for Rowrah 2002. We have our nice new 4pot caliper bolted on and apart from building an engine (!!! don't ask !!!) we should be ready to rock. See you tommorrow.

28 - 04 - 02 - Current state of affairs:

First cylinder with taffspeed tune has been rebored today, another will be ported to match and rebored next week with a prox KX60 piston.

Crankshaft is going in to be assembled tmw and hoping to build motor on sunday (dry) and see what the figures look like from the tampered ports.

RS forks mod is coming along nicely. 4 pot caliper is fixed up and ready to be mounted (need to make this)
Checking out m/cross wheel tmw and disc mounting boss manufacture will follow getting lots of advice for running in and other cool stuff (porting ideas) from taffspeed and writing them all down. I got a little black book... hoping to try out the honda CR80 pipe rob smith gave us a while back after i've made it fit, so there's another option to the pipe front. would love to start making them soon.

- Sideshow Bob Writes!!!

We have a new member to our Apetechies support team, AKA the engineering support brains that make APERACING what it is today. Welcome to James, master of engine management and fuel injection systems. Good to have you on board.

Becks won't be sidecar chairing this season due to being heavy with the G man's kinder.. Look out for gangly Sideshow or the lovely Es bouncing around the track. It will be Es's first time out on the chair this season so I wish her the best of luck...

21 - 04 - 02 - New side-car team - for 2002.

You can follow the antics of bonobo moto on the new minisite.

Tech wise we are hard at it two weeks before racing. We are currently adding rs125 front end to our season 6 ap50. We have also got it road legal (!!!) so we should be able to get some testing in before may bank holiday.

06 - 03 - 02 - First pictures of our new sidecar outfit - Cat and Mouse - the combine that Graeme and Becks pilotted last season. Click here for a sneaky peak.

12 - 02 - 02 - Ermmm. Happy New Year. Sorry I've been really slack over the last few months being busy slaving with paid web jobs.. I am pleased to announce the moving of aperacing.com onto its dedicated server where you will be reading this now. I have also been busy working on the new baby - www.mopedmayhem.com - the new Official site for MMRC's mopedmayhem. If you have a site that links to either www.mopedmayhem.co.uk or www.moped-mayhem.co.uk could you please update your links to this new .com as the old domains have shed their webspace and are no longer active.

I will be aiming to keep a fortnightly update schedule on this site so keep an eye on the site and bookmark www.aperacing.com and come back soon. We still have a load of images and video from last season to go on the site and I'll endeavor to make ammends for my absence....
